AUBURN — Former Boston Red Sox players, including Red Sox Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Stanley “Steamer,” Dennis “Oil Can Boyd” (both from the historic 1986 World Series team), Sam Horn, David Valdez and Jim Corsi, will be competing in a Red Sox alumni charity softball game Saturday.

The game will be hosted by the Auburn Firefighters Local 797, with money raised from the event going to the firefighters’ Children’s Fund. The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Pettengill Park.

In addition to the main event, there will be a chance for autographs and pictures after the game and a free baseball/softball clinic before the game, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available for a suggested $10 donation. For more information, contact [email protected].
