1952 – 2009
ANDOVER – Richard A. Blodgett Jr., 57, of North Andover Road, Andover, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.
He was born in Rumford on Aug. 1, 1952, to Richard and Rena (Turbide) Blodgett Sr, one of 14 siblings.
Richard lived in the area most of his life. He began his career working for Sampson’s Supermarket Chain,working at various locations throughout the state for 10 years. He worked as a supervisor at Bancroft Contracting Co. in South Paris for more than 26 years until retiring in 2004 due to illness.
He was a member of the Calvary Bible Church. He loved fishing, tinkering, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Richard was married in Rumford on Jan. 23, 1971 to the former Anna Marie Conant of Dixfield.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Anna Blodgett, of Andover; daughters, Michelle Ross and husband, Dan, of Key West, Fla., Tracey Milledge and fiancé, Matthew Fuller, of Dixfield, and Melissa Blodgett of Andover; a son, Richard Blodgett III and companion, Deborah Shover, of Rumford; eight grandchildren, Danny and Sarah Ross, Kyle and Adam Shover, Sarah Milledge, Carter Fuller, Jakob and Isaac Bacheller; brothers, Ernest, Mark, Gary, Kurt, Karl, Kris, Keith and Kelly; sisters, Tina, Lisa, Kim and Tira; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Deborah Morton.
