LEWISTON — The alleged victim at the center of a standoff earlier this month that led to the suicide of a Lewiston man was arrested Monday.

Justin Lee Lord, 21, of 2 Towle St., was charged just after 8 p.m. with a probation hold and unlawful possession of a narcotic. He was arrested after Lewiston police responded to a disturbance call at 34 Blake St.

Lewiston police Lt. Mark Watson said no other details were available because the incident remained under investigation. He confirmed Monday’s incident involved no other parties connected to the Sept. 3 standoff with police that led to the death of Daniel Bussiere. The 49-year-old committed suicide inside his Holland Street home after holding police at bay for nearly 20 hours.

The standoff started when Lord reported that Bussiere threatened Lord and put a gun to the bridge of his nose. As of last week, police planned to again interview Lord to determine whether he was truthful when he reported being the victim of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. The decision came after authorities failed to turn up the handgun allegedly used by Bussiere to threaten Lord.
