MEXICO — Police arrested Michael A. Parker, 27, of Carlton Avenue on felony charges related to a burglary of the Free Store in July.

During that incident, nearly $4,000 in new clothing acquired as part of the annual Santa’s Helpers Christmas drive, was taken.

Parker was arrested at 8 a.m. on Sept. 10 at a Third Street home and charged with possessing or receiving stolen property, Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said. Police recovered about half of the stolen clothing from Parker’s home on Aug. 22. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

Parker was taken to the Oxford County Jail, then to the Androscoggin County Jail where he remained on $1,000 cash bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Oxford County Superior Court on Dec. 17.
