DAMARISCOTTA — Benjamin Leigh Bunton, 33, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 13, in Damariscotta.
He was born Feb. 27, 1976, in Lewiston, a son of Michael and Susan Gallagher Bunton. He graduated from Searsport High School, Class of 1993. He traveled as a foreign exchange student to New Zealand. He graduated from the University of Maine. He had a great passion for outdoor sports, music and books. He was well-known for his outgoing and vibrant personality and dedication to his friends who will sorely miss him.
He is survived by his father, Michael Bunton of North Carolina; mother and stepfather, Jimmy and Susan Gallagher Annear of Homestead, Fla.; stepbrothers, Nicholas Parker of Ontario, Canada, Michael Kobs of Fort Myers, Fla., Jamie Annear of Springfield, Mass., and Brian Annear of Auburn; grandparents, Dr. John and Wilma Gallagher of Homestead, Fla., and Nelson and Virginia Bunton of Dalzell, S.C.; aunts and uncles, Jim and Donna Gallagher of West Bowdoin, Aline Provencher of Auburn, Brenda and Henry Gonia of Homestead, Fla., Laura and Jim Stapleton of Spruce Pine, N.C., Marti and Louis Turgeon of South Haven, Miss., Eddy and Von Bunton of Morganton, N.C., and Diane Bunton of Memphis, Tenn.; many cousins including Kristina Gallagher of Mechanic Falls; very special people in Benjamin’s life, special friend, Zach Bliss; girlfriend, Amanda Nance of Portland, Ore.; and lifelong friend and best friend, Todd Mason of Searsport.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jamie Anne Bunton.
