Gerald E. Easter Sr.
1928 – 2009
RUMFORD — Gerald Elwin Easter, Sr., 81, of Ellis River Road in Rumford passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Rumford Hospital with loving family at his side.
He was born in East Peru, Jan. 11, 1928, the son of Isaac and Marion (Noyes) Easter.
He attended Rumford schools. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He married the former Constance Cote on July 4, 1953, at St. Theresa’s Church in Mexico. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage and raised four children. He was owner/operator of Airport Motors in Rumford Point. He was a communicant of Holy Savior Parish.
He was a member of the Rumford Grange 115 for 65 years. He enjoyed boxed puzzles and the companionship of his dog, Zack.
He is survived by his wife, Connie of 65 years; a son, Gerald E. Easter Jr. and wife, Lorraine, of South Berwick; a daughter, Laurel Ann Easter of Auburn; son, Michael Easter and wife, Donna, of Auburn; son, Don Easter of Auburn; two brothers, Ronald Easter of Mexico and Wendell Easter of Rumford Point; a sister, Methyl Park of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, baby, John Cote Easter; a brother, Wilfred Easter; and two sisters, Althea Tucker and Priscilla Jasud.
His family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice staff and the staff at Rumford Hospital Emergency Room for the tender care given to Gerry and the family.
