SPARTA, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Speedway’s long wait for a coveted NASCAR Sprint Cup date will continue for at least one more year.

NASCAR unveiled its 2010 schedule on Tuesday, and it does not include a stop at the 1.5-mile tri-oval located about halfway between Louisville and Cincinnati.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series will run the Kentucky 300 at the Speedway on Saturday, June 12. The Camping World Truck Series date, previously held in July, has been moved to Labor Day weekend. The truck race will be held on Sept. 3, one day before the IndyCar Series visits.

Speedway owner Bruton Smith had hoped to land a Cup date after purchasing the track last year, but cited an ongoing antitrust lawsuit between the previous owners and NASCAR as a stumbling block to securing a Cup race.
