FREEPORT — Amy Dorothy Morrill Bowden, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Exeter, Devon, England, April 4, 1927, a daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Auton) Stephens. After finishing school in England, she moved to the United States, eventually settling in Maine, where she worked as a hand sewer at Eastland Shoe in Freeport for many years.
She leaves three daughters, Kay Hansen and her husband, Peter, of Scarborough, Lynn Sims and her husband, Randall, of Memphis Tenn., and Patricia Derocher and her husband, Paul, of Lisbon Falls; two sons, Alan Morill of Tucson, Ariz., and Ray Morill of Bowdoinham; a sister, Frances Cornish of England; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Earland Ray Morrill; and her husband of nine years, Gerald Bowden.
