AARP meeting

LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Chapter 4077 of AARP will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the Multi Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. The speaker will be Auburn Mayor John Jenkins. Refreshments will be served. Any AARP member is welcome.

Degree day

NEW GLOUCESTER — Androscoggin and Oxford Pomona Granges will sponsor a Degree day at 4 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 20, at Sabbathday Lake Grange. After the First and Second Degrees are conferred, a
light supper for a small fee will be served, after which the Third and Fourth Degrees will be worked. Any grange with candidates for the Degrees is welcome to bring

At the annual picnic in August, Danville Junction Grange 65 presented
the annual scholarship to Matthew Gagne of Sidney. He is the grandson
of William and Shirley Hatch of Wales and is a sophomore at Kennebec
Valley Community College in the electrical technology associate degree program. Karen Gagne was present to accept this award for her son, who
was unable to attend. 

Lodge meeting

AUBURN — Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21,
at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane, for its first
regular meeting after summer recess. The Noble Grand, Pamela Black,
urges all members to be present. Election of officers will take place
and the 158th anniversary of the Rebekah Degree will be observed.

RCAM meeting 

LEEDS — The 39th annual meeting of the Rural Community Action Ministry will begin at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the office on 81 Church
Hill Rd. The regular business meeting
will include the election of a new slate of board officers and the
public is invited to attend.

Fellowship

AUBURN — The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 22,
at the Court Street Baptist Church. The business meeting will begin at
11 a.m. followed by devotions led by Pastor David Clark. There will
be a potluck luncheon at noon. Those attending should bring a place setting, a
potluck item and a donation for the food cupboard. Clark will present a program, “Life in a Third World
Country.” All seniors citizens and their guests are invited.
