A cook at Cole Farms Restaurant in Gray has been charged with assault after police were called about a report that a person had been assaulted with a french fry.

Few details were available Wednesday night, but a Maine State Police memo stated that the victim of the assault suffered second degree burns. It was unclear if the alleged victim was also an employee of the restaurant.

The case is being investigated by Trooper Ben Smith, who was not available for comment Wednesday night.
