Edward Little High School senior Katherine Harmon collects Androscoggin River water on the banks of the river at the Rancourt River Preserve in Lewiston Thursday morning. Several upper class biology students were assisting in a program that targets all sophomores at the school. Over the course of two days, small groups visited several sites along the river in Lewiston, Greene and Durham for an ecology unit in their biology class. This is the third year of the program that is designed to give students an appreciation of the value of the Androscoggin River and its history with a hands-on experience.
