PARIS — Police say a standoff that start late Thursday ended at about 9:30 a.m. Friday when James Newcomb was taken into custody peacefully.
Paris Police Lt. Michael Dailey said Newcomb, in his mid-30s, dialed 911 Thursday and said he was in his home at 11 Kingsbury Ln. with a gun.
The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called to the home at about 2:30 a.m. Friday and were able to convince Newcomb to surrender and be taken to a local medical facility for an evaluation, Dailey said. As of Friday Newcomb had been charged with disorderly conduct.
Dailey said there were no other people in the home with Newcomb during the standoff.
