Arlene S. Urbaitis
1919 – 2009
AUGUSTA — Arlene S. Urbaitis, 90, of Kennison Street, died Sept. 18, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
She was born in Rumford, Aug. 27, 1919, the daughter of John Zilinskas and Helen (Utmount) Zilinskas.
She was a 1938 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Arlene’s Pastry Shop for several years. She was previously employed by Bates Manufacturing Co. in Lewiston for 10 years.
She was a member of the “Time Stealers” bowling team. She was known for her love of her flower garden. In her younger days, she was an avid fisherman on Three Mile Pond. She was a communicant of St. Michael Parish.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Urbaitis and his wife Susan, and Glen Urbaitis and his wife Linda, all of Augusta; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Constantine Urbaitis; her parents; and a brother, Walter Zilinskas.
