Alison M. Dumont

LEWISTON — A celebration of life service honoring Alison M. Dumont was held Saturday morning at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home with Chaplain Michael Tyne presiding.

During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Alison’s dear friend, Kim Laverdiere, who shared special fond memories of their friendship. Health care workers, Kim Cotta and Rene Courtemache of the CMMC Infusion Center, who became very close to Alison, shared how Alison’s strong determination was upbeat despite the worst of odds. Alison’s supervisor from Bates College, Christine Schwartz, shared her personal respect for Alison as well as Alison’s work ethic as a chef and her impeccable food preparations and dedication. Alison’s aunt, Roseanne Phillips, shared personal family memories, followed by her husband, Michael Rodman, who recited the Native American poem, “Eagle.” Alison’s cousin, Anna Van Zee Phillips, shared family memories, and Alison’s sister-in-law, Rhonda Bates, spoke on behalf of the Dumont family, sharing how much Alison meant to her personally as the sister she never had and the love and admiration her family had for Alison. Christopher Phillips, cousin of Alison, shared many family memories of Alison and, Christopher’s daughter, Julia Phillips, ended by reciting the poem, “Afterglow.” 

Following closing prayers, all in attendance were invited to greet the Dumont and Phillips families with their own personal condolence. As a tribute to Alison’s career at Bates College, a reception of fellowship followed at the college’s new dining room facility in Lewiston. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
