JAY — A motorcyclist was injured Saturday morning when he hit a mini van that pulled out in front of him on Route 133, police said.

Mark Melanson, 47, of Livermore Falls, was going north on Route 133 around 10 a.m. when he came to Bean’s Corner. At the same time, a minivan driven by Kirsten Barbour, 36, of Dixfield, was going west on Route 156 and reached the same intersection. Police said Barbour stopped at the blinking red light but did not see Melanson, who had a blinking yellow light, before she pulled out. Melanson hit Barbour’s van.

Melanson complained of shoulder pain and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. Police said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Barbour was not injured.

Melanson’s motorcycle was destroyed, police said. The damage to Barbour’s minivan was estimated at $3,500.
