Irene C. Pelletier
1933 – 2009
LEWISTON – Irene C. Pelletier, 75, of 94 Webber Ave., Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 28, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Helen Fortin Clavet. She was educated in local schools and was married to her first love on June 6, 1953, Fernand J. Pelletier, who predeceased her April 24, 2008.
Irene was a member of Holy Family Church and St. Anne’s Sodality. She volunteered as a librarian at Farwell School for 10 years, worked in the office at Holy Family Church for two years and taught CCD at Holy Family for eight years. She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and White Dove Pantry in Greene. She enjoyed making crafts and was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting and donated most of all her fine work.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne P. Latuscha and husband, John, of Readfield; two sons, Richard J. and wife, Laura, and Roland R. and wife, Gail, all of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Deneige, Abigale, Desirae, Chelsey, Craig and wife, Julie, Brian and wife, Christy, and Brandon and wife, Deanna; four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Mischa, Vanessa and Cole; a brother, Gerald Tanguay and wife, Anita, of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Claudia Clavet; and many nieces and nephews who were so good to her. She loved them all very much.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Clavet.
The family extends a special thank you to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their excellent care and to all the people who visited and supported them during her final illness.
