How do you find the words to thank her for the sacrifices she’s made… mom to many, grammy to some, and meme to the rest—we can’t put into words the way we feel about you, but we hope you always know in your heart how much we love you, respect you, and thank you for the countless ways you’ve helped make our lives what they are today…
LEWISTON — Margie Annie Abbott died Sept. 20, in Lewiston. She was born Sept. 27,1943, to Clyde Abbott and Hildred Dunham in Strong. She married Duna Toothaker 50 years ago this coming June in Phillips, where they raised their daughters and their families. Laurie Jo and Jerry Phillips, Kim and Scott Ladd of Avon, Bobbi and Pete Lilley, Robin and Floyd Ladd, Yolanda and Solon Smith, Jodi and Sam Thompson, all of Phillips, and Amy and Tim Arms of Salem.
Mom’s beloved grandchildren, Rene Phillips and Chris Langlois of Limington, Buffi Phillips and fiancée, Ray Poulin of Kingfield, Melisa and Stan Foss of Chesterville, Letitia Fall, Chris and Dani Smith, Ben and Nate Ladd, all of Phillips, Austin and Cody Ladd of Avon, Josey (Margaret) Arms of Salem, Dakota and Dominic Niemi of Wilton, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kallee Ann Foss, Derek, Lexi and Nick Poulin.
Other family and special friends are brother, Roger Abbott of Starks and sister, Betty Abbott of Gorham; Andrew and Cheryl, Noni and Dick, Steven and Renee, Lucy and Lori, Garfield and Judy, Mel, Hector, and all of you that made her life so special.
Mom and dad most enjoyed family and friends—Christmas, Easter and family gatherings, camping and fairs. Mom enjoyed cheering on all of the kids at their sporting events; not just her own.
In our lives their are many people but only a few that are truly special–Margie was that person to all of us.
