AUBURN — The Abused Women’s Advocacy Project will hold its second annual educational conference Monday, Oct. 19, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Great Falls Plaza. The topic is “Bystanders Responsibly Reacting to Gender Violence.”

Training presented by Daryl Fort, an educator and activist for gender violence prevention, will focus on preventing men’s violence against women and how everyone can play a role in that prevention. A current board member of Boys to Men, Fort is a former senior policy adviser to Gov. John Baldacci.

The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the fee to attend is $60. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Former Attorney General Steve Rowe is the guest keynote speaker.
