TURNER – Despite a late-game rally by Winslow, Leavitt held on for a 3-2 victory in a KVAC field hockey matchup Tuesday.

Kylie Vincent gave the Hornets (4-3) a 1-0 advantage with an unassisted first-half goal. Emily Murphy made it 2-0 at the 8:23 mark with assists from MyKayla McCann and Casey Fichter. Murphy tallied what proved the game-winner with 12:13 left in regulation.

Jen Poulin scored both goals for the Black Raiders (3-4), while Sara Jackson made 11 saves in net. Taylor Eells turned back 16 shots between the posts for Leavitt.

Boothbay 3, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN – Lindsey Marden led a trio of players to record second-half goals as Boothbay hustled to a 3-0 victory over St. Dom’s on Tuesday in an MVC field hockey contest Tuesday.

Sarah Caron and Christian Bailey also tallied for the  Seahawksto complete the scoring. Madison McCarthy made six saves for Boothbay to notch the win.

Jenna Fongemie turned aside five shots between the posts for st. Dom’s. 

Morse 1, Oxford Hills 0, 2OT

BATH – Lauren Hixon took a cross from Lisett Anderson and rattled the back of the cage with four minutes left in overtime to lift previously winless Morse to a 1-0 win over Oxford Hills in a KVAC field hockey showdown Tuesday.

Alejandra Rodrique stopped six shots to earn the shutout victory for the Shipbuilders (1-6), who next play at Lewiston on Thursday.

Mariah Kimball stopped eight Morse shots for Oxford Hills (5-2) while the Shipbuilders outshot the Vikings 11-8. Morse also held a 12-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Messalonskee 2, Edward Little 0

AUBURN – Holly Oliver scored two unassisted goals in the first half as Messalonskee (7-1) clung to a 2-0 victory against Edward Little  (2-6) in a field hockey game Tuesday.

Oliver’s first-half girls held up as Messalonskee dominated the field, outshooting the Red Eddies, 22-1, and taking the advantage in corners at 13-1.

Messalonskee goalie had an easy night in net, making just one save. Kayla Cummings, on the hand, made 18 saves for EL.

Rockland 4, Oak Hill 3, OT

ROCKLAND – Madison Sturks flicked the game-winning goal past the goalie in overtime to lift Rockland to a 4-3 triumph over Oak Hill in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.

The Raiders (2-5) tied the game twice in the second half, eventually forcing overtime. On a breakaway down the left wing, Monica Grass managed to push the ball into the middle where her sister, Emily Grass, converted a game-tying goal with 23 seconds remaining in regulation for the Tigers (2-4).

Following an injury and with three minutes elapsed in the overtime frame, Allison Ward broke through the Oak Hill defenses. She then drove the ball hard down the middle before passing off to Sturks. 

Girls’ soccer

Waterville 5, Mt. Blue 1

FARMINGTON – Jordan Pellerin scored four goals Tuesday to lead Waterville to a 5-1 rout over Mt. Blue in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup.

Hannah Jaber also tallied for the Panthers (4-1-1) to complete the scoring. The Cougars (2-3-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half, then saw the tides turn as Waterville exploded for five goals in the second frame. Cara Rousseau made three saves in net for Waterville to record the win. 

Marlie Mochamer scored the lone goal for Mt. Blue with an assist from McKenzie Thompson.

Cony 1, Edward Little 0

AUBURN – Olivia Boivin took a cross to center and worked her way through a mess in front of the net just 3:21 into the game to lift Cony to a 1-0 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC girls’ soccer action.

Amy Jones needed only four saves in net for the Rams (3-3) to notch the shutout.

Kirsten Prue handled netkeeping duties for the Red Eddies (3-2-1), finishing with 16 saves. 

Mt. Abram 3, Jay/LF 1

LIVERMORE FALLS – Mt. Abram received goals for three different players to knock Jay/Livermore Falls from the unbeaten ranks with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday.

Kylie Rolbiecki curled in a corner kick to give the Roadrunners (3-2-1) a 1-0 advantage at the half. Emily Luce and Helena Willaims also scored for Mt. Abram.

After Jay/LF (4-1-1) cut the defict to 2-1 on Beth Moore’s goal with nine minutes to play, the Wildcats had the opportunity to tie the game four minutes later, but could not convert the breakaway attempt.

Katie Beaulieu had six saves for Jay/LF, while Jillian Withee made five saves for the Roadrunners.

Richmond 3, Rangeley 0

RANGELEY – Noelle Acord scored a pair of goals to lead Richmond to a 3-0 victory over Rangeley in EWC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

The Lakers (3-2-1) played hard in the first half, keeping the Bobcats (4-0) to a single tally. But, the Lakers ran out of steam in the second frame, allowing Acord and Danica Hurley to post two more goals for Richmond.

Goalie Emily Carrier made 13 saves for Rangeley in the losing effort.
