Linette Mailhot, daughter of Claude and Denise Mailhot of Lewiston, has been selected to receive the Presidential Academic Achievement Pin, awarded by the president of the University of Maine at Orono in recognition of excellent academic performance.

In order to receive the pin, a full-time student must attain a 3.3 grade point average or better over two consecutive semesters and must also achieve a 3.5 GPA or better for the most recent semester, with a minimum of 12 credits.

Mailhot is a 2008 graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School.
