Army Pvt. Brianna M. Elliott has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of Kelly Arsenault of Peru and Jeffrey Elliott of Dixfield. Elliott is a 2007 graduate of Dirigo High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Dale A. Denbow has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military
operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition
forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission
objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization,
security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional
governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of
Iraq.

Members from all branches of the U.S. military and
multinational forces are also assisting in rebuilding Iraq’s economic
and governmental infrastructure, and training and preparing Iraqi
military and security forces to assume full authority and
responsibility in defending and preserving Iraq’s sovereignty and
independence as a democracy.

Denbow, an infantry motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company, based in Auburn. He has served in the military for more than eight years. He is the son of Lana R. Denbow and Waldo P. Hoar, both of Auburn.

Army Reserve Spec. Theodore N. Stevens has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Stevens, a motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has served in the military for more than two years. His wife, Kelly, is the daughter of Kathy R. Balding of Poland. Stevens graduated in 2002 from Poland Regional High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Michael R. Valentine has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Valentine, a motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has served in the military for more than two years. He is the son of Geri L. Valentine of Greene and a 2002 graduate of Leavitt High School.

Army Reserve Sgt. Kevin D. Murphy has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Murphy, a motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has served in the military for more than nine years. He is the son of Kevin D. Murphy and Diane M. Murphy, both of Leeds. He graduated in 2001 from Leavitt Area High School.

Army Reserve Spec. Marshall L. Hiscock has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Hiscock, a heavy wheeled motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has served in the military for more than three years. He graduated in 1998 from Jay High School and received an associate degree in 2002 from Southern Maine Technical College in South Portland.

Army Reserve Pfc. Brian Snell has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Snell, a motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has served in the military for more than two years. He is the grandson of James L. Snell of Strong. He graduated in 2004 from Mount Abram High School.

Army Reserve Sgt. Lisa McDonald has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

McDonald, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. She has served in the military for more than 20 years. She is a 1988 graduate of Winthrop High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Marc G. Berube has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Berube, a wheeled vehicle mechanic, is normally assigned to the 619th Transportation Company. He has two years of military service.

He is the son of Mona J. Paschke of Brunswick. His wife, Becky, is the daughter of Jason Wing and Annette Pulsifer, both of Auburn. He is a 2005 graduate of Poland Regional High School.

  Army Reserve Spec. Carl J. Grady has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Grady,
a motor transport operator, is normally assigned to the 619th
Transportation Company. He has served in the military for three years.
He is the son of Rachel M. Grady of Lewiston. Grady is a 2006 graduate of Lisbon High School.

Air Force Airman Traelynne E. Hinckley graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of Scott and stepdaughter of Joyce Hinckley of Lisbon Falls. Hinckley is a 2007 graduate of Lisbon High School.
