FARMINGTON — With decreasing budgets and increased costs of printing and postage, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Franklin County Office is now posting news and information on the Web.

Listings for workshops and events, as well as tips and other timely and useful information on everything from growing and preserving food to starting a small or home-based business will be available on the new site. Users will be able to subscribe to the site to receive e-mail notices when new information has been posted. The address is www.extensionnewsfranklin.blogspot.com.

Bible school

PHILLIPS — The Phillips Shared Ministry will have weekly Bible School for children from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 28. Call Jeanne Conroy at 639-3000 to enroll. It will be held at the Community House on Main Street.

Senior citizens

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Sept. 21 with 31 members and one guest, Francis Therrien, present.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with prayer, a salute to the flag and a moment of silence for deceased members and for the men and women in the Armed Forces. Raoul Roy was welcomed back.

It was reported that Lois Goding is at Sandy River Nursing Home and Lucille Frechette is at Pinewood Terrace. Gabrielle Labine was also reported to have died during the summer recess.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted. The 50/50 was won by Theresa Bilodeau and the raffle of a zucchini bread made by Shirley Couture was won by Margaret Slovak.

The meeting was adjourned and beano, cards and cribbage were played.
