Firewood raffle

PARIS — The South Paris X-tra Mile ATV Club is having a fall firewood raffle, which includes one cord of dry firewood, cut, split and
delivered within 25 miles of South Paris. Tickets will be for sale at the Oxford Plains Speedway race from
12:30 to around 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. They will also be for sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Smedberg’s Crystal Spring Farm. Other sale times will be announced and the winner will be drawn at Smedberg’s at 1 p.m. Nov. 29. Bill Pollard from
South Paris was the winner of the previous firewood raffle.

Homeschooling

PARIS — Third grade through middle school homeschooled students and their parents are invited to the Paris Public
Library at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. Options for fall programming will be discussed with librarian
Billie Lou Damon. A sophisticated picture book with a historical fiction theme will be read. Snacks will be provided.

Girl scouts

OXFORD — 
Girl Scouts of Maine invites all girls in kindergarten through grade 12 to kick off the new Girl Scout year from 6 to 8
p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Oxford Elementary School, 79 Pleasant St.

“There will be several self run stations with various activities as
well as the ‘Dance Your Socks Off’ main event of learning and doing
different dances,” said Girl Scouts of Maine Membership Manager Jeanie
Duguay. “This is an open event so girls and their parents can come at
anytime during the event.” 

Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts alike are invited to attend the event.
There is no cost, however participants are asked to bring a pair of
