This is in regard to the recent vote in the U.S. Senate to approve the appointment of Cass Sunstein as director of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. That Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe voted yes was too much for me not to write and vent. Those two ladies need to change their political affiliation to Democrats.
I don’t believe that either of them, and many others who voted to pass the so-called stimulus bill, read it. I certainly hope that the people in the state of Maine will remember that when they are up for re-election.
What really gets me is that there is money in that bill for ACORN; it could receive up to $4 billion under the economic stimulus legislation approved by the House of Representatives. I encouraged both senators to investigate ACORN when Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota was looking into its activities, but they seemingly refused to do so.
Now they go along with Obama’s pick of Sunstein for regulatory czar. The hunters in Maine should be happy with Collins’ and Snowe’s vote for that radical. I am sure not many people in the state realize what he is about. People should take time and do some homework on him.
