Therese G. Fournier
1926 – 2009
AUBURN — Therese G. Fournier, 83, of Auburn, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, Sept. 24, with her loved ones nearby.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 15, 1926, the daughter of William and Roseanna (Champagne) Nadeau.
She was educated in Lewiston schools and resided in Auburn most of her life, where she was a homemaker. She also lived in Presque Isle and Caribou in 1970, where her husband was self-employed in the food business until his retirement in 1982, when they returned to live in Auburn. She was a long time communicant of St. Louis Church, and St. Philips Church for the past several years.
Those close to her will sadly miss her. She was a compassionate person, especially toward those less fortunate. She loved animals and enjoyed interacting with cats, dogs, and birds, spoiling them immensely. She was easygoing and enjoyed flowers and nature.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, Leopold; one son, Thomas of Auburn, along with an “adopted” son and long time loving caregiver, Brian Martin of Auburn, whom she regarded with profound affection; four daughters, Pauline Sweetser and her husband, Stephen, of Presque Isle, Jacqueline Vero and her husband, Lucky, of Los Gatos, Calif., Anital LaPointe of Auburn and Michelle Toomey of Deer Island; one sister, Paulette Burpee of Lewiston; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Rita Berticelli, Cecile Goulet, Lorraine Nadeau, Marie James; and a brother, William Nadeau.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. George Morrissette for the excellent medical care as his patient of many years.
