James and Nellie Williams

AUBURN — A surprise party was held recently for James and Nellie Williams of Auburn on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was planned by their daughters and son-in-law, Mark and Jean, Joyce and Joan and was held in Auburn.

Decorations were in gold and an anniversary cake was served. The couple received a gold mantle clock with the anniversary date. The couple is planning a second honeymoon trip to Hershey, Pa., and Niagara Falls.

The guest book was circulated by Cecile Daniels, Joe Michaud and Joan and Arthur Ellie and others.

Mr. Williams and the former Nellie Eastman were married Aug. 29, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston. They have five children, Jean, Joan, Jenny, Jessie and Joyce. Their grandchildren are Greg and Lynn, Leslie and Matt, Matt and Ashley, Crystal, Christopher, Christina, Pam, Jason and Julie, Vicki, Sebastian, Craig and Lance.

Both have worked and lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area most of their lives. They are involved in the grange, city council and the schools. They worked in manufacturing until retirement.

Out of town guests were Robert and Marge Williams, Cecile Daniels, Joyce Williams and many others.
