Recently, I received a correspondence from the Republican Party, smearing President Barack Obama for something that was apparently taken out of context. Such action is childish.

Instead of perpetuating hate and discontent, how about politicians working together to resolve the issues and problems that the nation currently faces? Never mind who gets credit for what. Obama did not create the problems; he inherited them.

Cooperation will go a lot further to find and implement viable solutions. Congresspeople should put party politics aside and do what is right for all Americans.

I read a bumper sticker that seems extremely appropriate: “When the power of love becomes more important than the love of power, we will have peace.”

People should act accordingly.
