Honore A. ‘Henry’ Breton
1926 – 2009
LEWISTON — Honore A. (Henry) Breton, 83, of Scribner Blvd., died Sunday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 28, 1926, a son of the late Alfred and Delima Dufresne Breton. He was educated in local schools and later went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, the former Jeannette Bosse, on Sept. 1, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church.
He worked for many years at Bates Manufacturing Co. as head of maintenance. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, Knights of Columbus Holy Cross Council 12652, where he served in the honor guard and color guard of the Msgr. Felix Martin Fourth Degree Assembly 2870. He was also a member of the VFW Lewiston, American Legion Post 22 Lewiston, Association Canados Americaine and Union St. Jean Baptiste. He enjoyed traveling and woodworking.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Jeannette of Lewiston; his sisters-in-law, Jeannine Breton Cloutier, Irene Breton Legare and Jackie Gilman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Therese Dube; and two brothers, Roger and Renald.
