Christine A. Nelson
1915 – 2009

WATERVILLE — Christine Alice Nelson, 93, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 26, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1915, in East Stoneham, the daughter of Albert E. and Christabel Parker Nelson.

She graduated from Norway High School and Bryant and Stratton College in Boston, Mass. She lived in Medford, Mass., for most of her adult life and was vice president of Workingmen’s Cooperative Bank in Boston.

She loved to travel and enjoyed England, Europe, Australia, many U.S. states and her favorite, Hawaii. After her retirement, she moved to Woburn, Mass., and was an active member at the Winchester United Church of Christ. She was honored and recognized for her volunteer work at the Winchester Hospital. In 2004, she moved to Winslow to be near her family.

Close family members include nephew, Bradley Nelson and his wife, Jeannie, of Winslow and their family; Joel Nelson, also of Winslow and Matthew and Christa Nelson Santella and great-great-niece, Christiana Santella of Marlborough, Mass.; niece, Geneva Tripp of East Stoneham; great-nieces and nephews, Sharon (Nelson) Berman, Cheryl (Nelson) Barnard, Albert E. Nelson, Jr., Dale Nelson, Craig Millett, Carol (Millett) Davis, Gary Millett and Edward Millett; and close family friends, Diane and Ron Lewis of Winslow.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Stanwood P. and Albert R. Nelson.
