The three Lewiston U.S. Army Cadets recently completed basic cadet
training at the National Cadet Training Center of the U.S. Army Cadet
Corps in Millersburg, Ky. They joined more than 165 cadets from 21
states across the U.S. for the 15-day training cycle. They received
training in the U.S. Army common tasks including drill and ceremony,
U.S. Army customs and courtesies and participated in rappelling,
martial arts and marksmanship. The Lewiston cadets are members of
Company A, 1st Battalion, Maine of the U.S. Army Cadet Corps which
drills at Lewiston High School. The cadet corps is open to any male or
female student of good character ages 12 to 18 who lives in Southern
Maine. The cadets drill the second and third Tuesday and last Saturday
