LEWISTON — A free four-week class for anyone interested in starting a business is being offered from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22, at USM Lewiston-Auburn College. “The Basics of Starting a Business” is a joint project of the Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community and the Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises Inc.

The class will discuss pros and cons of being an entrepreneur and cover the basics of a business plan, marketing and cash planning. It is suitable for those thinking about or in the early startup phase of a new business.
