Catherine B. Lunt
1921 – 2009
PARIS — Catherine B. Lunt, 88, of 3 Market Square, died Thursday, Oct. 1, at Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born Catherine Morrill Bean in Auburn, March 23, 1921, to parents Harlan H. Bean and Gladys Morrill Bean. Moving with her family during her early years, she attended the primary school in West Bethel, Edward Little High School in Auburn and Portland High School, and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel.
She was an active member of the Portland and Oxford Advent Christian churches and for several years resided at the Advent Christian Village at Dowling Park, Fla., where she led a women’s Bible study at the nursing home there. She was a deaconess at the Portland church and organized the Daytimers monthly dinners there.
When she moved to Norway in the 1980s, she founded a Daytimers group at the Oxford church. She also hosted a prayer group at her home, and that prayer ministry is still active today.
She leaves a daughter, Sharon L. Jackson of Sidney; four granddaughters, Kelley Jackson of Brunswick, Katherine Jackson of Sidney, Kimberly Jackson of Lyman and Kristie Reynolds of Brunswick; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bean of Bethel; and nephews, Harlan Bean of South Paris and Wayne Bean of Bethel, and their families.
