FARMINGTON — Exhibitors are wanted to participate in a Farmington Conservation Fair that brings together Franklin County citizens committed to energy efficiency.
The fair, planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Farmington Community Center on Middle Street, is being organized as part of “350,” an international awareness day designed to create and preserve a healthy planet.
On that day, according to the 350 Web site, people will unite and take a stand for a safer climate where levels of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is no more than 350 parts per million. Presently those levels are at 390 ppm.
Organizers of the conservation fair are seeking individuals, businesses and groups interested in displaying products and services that contribute to the emerging sustainable economy in our region. Interested parties with expertise or knowledge related to fuel and energy economy, winterization, sustainable agriculture, forest management practices and more are encouraged to register for a table.
The deadline to register for the fair is Oct. 15, but registrations will be accepted until all slots are full. There is no cost to participate. The event is free and open to the public.
For more information, contact Jeremy Smith at 207-778-9636, or e-mail at [email protected], or go to the fair Web site http://conservationfair.wordpress.com to download registration materials.
