The Mt. David Shakespeare Club was entertained yesterday at Sinners Rest, Lake Auburn, by Mrs. E. H. White. The ladies went up in the morning, returning at 5 o’clock. A picnic dinner was enjoyed, and in the afternoon the regular reading from the psychology was taken up. The next meeting will be in one week at the home of Mrs. J. H. Crowley, College street.

Close to 3,000 pheasants have been released throughout Androscoggin County by fish and game clubs in order to provide what is expected to be some of the best bird hunting in the county for several years.
The pheasants, from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Game, have been released in Androscoggin County under the direction of the Androscoggin County Fish and Game Association and its stocking committee chairman Emery Fournier. County game clubs have cooperated.
The 2,850 pheasants released since June are double the number the ACFGA has released in past years.

NEW GLOUCESTER — Opportunity Farm for Boys is having its Fall Harvest open house Sunday.
There will be tours of the facilities given by the boys. Baby animals will be available for petting and feeding; and free hayrides and kiddie rides as well as fresh farm vegetables will be offered to visitors.
