LISBON — Police have arrested a local man in connection with a string of
burglaries and thefts in the Wing Street and Mill Street areas that have been going on since late August.

Michael Harriman, 19, of 11 Mill St. was arrested and charged with three counts of burglary on
Sept. 24 and later released on bail. He also was recently indicted by an Androscoggin County grand jury on charges of receiving stolen firearms.

Harriman is suspected of breaking into homes and stealing old coins, guitars and electronic equipment such as PlayStation2 and PlayStation3 machines, among other things, police said. Most of the items have been recovered, Detective Bernard McAllister said. As of Thursday, $2,500 worth of stolen items had been recovered by McAllister and Detective Bill Tapley.

McAllister said there were multiple burglaries at the same locations on three occasions. In each case, the home that was burglarized was not locked, he said, adding that there may have been some car burglaries in which unlocked cars were entered. Police stressed that cars and homes should always be locked.

The detectives are following up leads on other burglaries. They say they have no reason to believe the crimes were committed by a “ring,” but rather a “lone wolf.”
