LISBON — Two young passengers escaped with apparent minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Ferry Road on Thursday morning.
The driver, who was operating on a learner’s permit, was identified as Rian Emano, 15, of Miller Road. He was accompanied by his mother, Marian Emano, 38. His passengers, a 12-year-old sister and a 6-year-old brother, were taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
According to police Chief David Brooks, the youth was driving west near 273 Ferry Road when he lost control of his vehicle, went off the road, struck and snapped a utility pole and pulled wires into the roadway.
Damage was estimated at $3,000 to his 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan and $4,000 to the pole in the 7 a.m. crash, which was investigated by officer Shawn Kelly and assisted by fire and ambulance personnel. No charges were filed.
