The Mt. Blue High School Music Department has announced the new singers
in the Syncopations. The Syncopations is an 13-member auditioned
women’s ensemble who have sung in Carnegie Hall, London and most
recently won the top choral award at the Heritage Music Festival in
Montreal, Quebec. They have performed concerts locally and around the
state. This years singers are pictured and include Alex Allen, Alexaiya
Backman, Rosie Cohen, Megan Collins, Kerri Cooper, Laurel Fraley, Emily
Kerr, Paige Kincaid, Carolyn Poliquin, Katie Rice, Hannah Senecal,
Marissa Swain and Miranda Voter. Accompanist is local musician Patricia
Hayden. This year’s ensemble is preparing music of the "girl groups"
from the 1920s through the 1950s in addition to a classical repertoire.
