FARMINGTON — Volunteers are needed to join the planning committee for the 2010 Relay For Life of Franklin County. Last year, the event raised more than $50,000, the most money in its history, and new committee members are needed to ensure the community event continues to grow.

Planning committee members are needed to organize and recruit teams,
seek community support, coordinate logistics, find refreshments and
prizes and plan entertainment. Those who would like to join the committee are invited to
attend an informational rally from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at
Franklin Memorial Hospital in the Crosby Room.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out and take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds, while celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost and fighting back against a disease that takes too much.

Those who cannot attend the rally and wish to learn more about becoming a member of the planning committee, call Megan Barrett at the American Cancer Society at 373-3704 or e-mail [email protected].
