Derek and Josie Porter
BANGOR — The wedding of Josie Elizabeth Geis and Derek Adam Porter was held at 4 p.m. on May 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Bangor.
Mrs. Porter is the daughter of Douglas D. and Vicki L. Geis of South Carthage. Mr. Porter is the son of Stephen H. and Irvina R. Porter Sr. of Newburgh.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a white satin strapless gown with beaded heart-shaped bodice, pick-up skirt and corset back, topped with a beaded lace bolero jacket. She carried a bouquet of white roses and peridot ribbon.
Serving as matron of honor was a friend of the bride, Stephanie Thiele. Bridesmaids were Nicole McNally, friend of the bride, and Danielle Ranger, niece of the bride.
Serving as best man was a friend of the bridegroom, Jeffery Demarest. Groomsmen were Steven Jones and Kenneth Tompkins, friends of the bridegroom.
A reception followed at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer, after which the couple traveled to Essex, Vt. They are residing in Bangor.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Dirigo High School in Dixfield and a 2002 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is a children’s administrator of Section 24 at the Charlotte White Center in Bangor.
The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Hampden Academy and attended the University of Maine at Orono. He is an optometrist technician for Vision Care of Maine in Bangor.
