Paul Spangle and Barbara Thurston

SOUTH PARIS — Helga Thurston of South Paris and Tom Thurston of Provincetown, Mass., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara Thurston, to Paul Spangle, son of Mark and Sandy Spangle of Menasha, Wisc.

Miss Thurston is a 1997 graduate of Oxford Hills High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in German from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, along with a master’s degree in intercultural relations from Lesley University. She is currently employed as assistant director in the Office of International Education at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.

Mr. Spangle is a 2000 graduate of Menasha High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and film at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He received a master’s degree in counseling and student personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is now employed as assistant director in the Division of Student Life at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

A wedding is planned for summer 2010.
