Martha Gerlek Tabor
1941 – 2009

BATH – Martha Gerlek Tabor, 68, of Second Street, Lisbon Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 3, at Windship Green Nursing Home, with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Michael P. and Doris E. (Byras) Gerlek. She was educated in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School, class of 1959. Martha was a former member of St. Cyril and Methodist Church, now Holy Trinity, in Lisbon Falls. She was also a member of the American Legion auxiliary. She volunteered for many years at Marion T. Morse Elementary School, helping children by teaching them to read. She enjoyed reading and spending summers at her camps in Beddington and Harpswell, kayaking and spending time with family and friends around a roaring fire.

She leaves behind her lifelong partner, Brian Govang, of Lisbon Falls; two daughters, Lisa Driver and her husband, Donn, of Lisbon Falls and Bonny Bartlett and her husband, Brian, also of Lisbon Falls; three grandchildren, Brianne Beaudry and her companion, Brian Levesque, Brandon Bartlett and Blake Bartlett; and a sister-in-law, Sue Gerlek and her companion, Bert Chaput.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Gerlek.
