There is a secret hidden in the woods of the small town of Rumford, and that secret is the Rumford Community Home.

After my wife’s stay for rehabilitation after heart surgery, I feel like a walker on the Appalachian Trail who comes unexpectedly upon a rose lighting up the deep woods.

I cannot thank enough those who helped and served my wife daily at “the Home,” as we call it, from nurses to LPNs to CNAs to MedTechs to activities.

Yes, there is a rose lighting up the woods in Rumford: “the Home,” which I will perhaps one day gratefully visit in my aging years for rehabilitation or residential care.
