SOUTH CHINA – Jessica Nyholm scored with 10:59 left in the first half to lift Edward Little to a 1-0 victory over Erskine Academy in KVAC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Emily Grund made a strong move on the right flank to cross the ball to Nyholm for the nice finish. The Red Eddies (4-4-2) played strong on defense to ward off a tough Eagles (1-7-2) attack late in the second half.

Kirsten Prue stopped seven shots for the shutout.

Oak Hill 2, Mt. View 0

THORNDIKE – Becca Belaire and Amanda Bloss each scored a goal to propel Oak Hill to a 2-0 victory over Mt. View in KVAC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Abby Goulet and Gabby Green also contributed for the Raiders (3-7-2) with assists. Maggie Sabine needed only two saves to notch the shutout.

Rachel Andrews turned aside nine shots between the posts for Mt. View (0-12). 

Winslow 4, Nokomis 1

WINSLOW – Kim Curtis led a group of four players to register goals as Winslow rolled past Nokomis 4-1 in girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Julie Reardon, Jordan Mallett and Alliyah Veilleux also tallied for the Black Raiders (12-0) to comlpete the scoring. Jessica Gordon made six saves for Winslow to notch the shutout.

Becky Wolinski scored the lone goal for Nokomis (6-4-1), while Laura Lyford made an impressive 28 saves between the posts. 

Cony 4, Lewiston 0

AUGUSTA – Tori Fowler netted a pair of second-half goals to lead Cony to a 4-0 romp over Lewiston in KVAC girls’ socer action Tuesday.

Cassie Diplock and MacKenzie Dufour also tallied for the Rams (7-3) to comlpete the scoring. Amy Jones needed only four saves to notch the shutout. 

Beth Lebel turned back 20 shots in net for the Blue Devils (2-8). 

Freeport 1, Gray-NG 0

GRAY – Senior Bryn Gallager recorded a goal at the 9:34 mark of the first half to lift Freeport to a 1-0 triumph over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Gallagher beat a couple of defenders in a zig zag flight plan towards the cage, and snuck the ball in the near post for the Falcons (2-8-1).

Goalie Sammie Wilkins had eight saves for the Patriots (2-8), while goalie Abby Roney earned the win in net for Freeport with nine saves.

Poland 4, Old Orchard Beach 3

POLAND – Emma Turten took a cross from Celeste Knowles and fired it into the net with 2:32 left in regulation to lift Poland to a 4-3 victory over Old Orchard each in a WMC girls’ soccer tilt Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, Kelsie Taylor registered a hat trick for the Knights (4-4-1) to lead all scorers. Samantha St. Pierre made eight saves for Poland to notch the win. 

Kristen Sevigny led the Seagulls (3-7) with two goals, while Olivia Dubois also tallied. Rachel Hatch turned back 10 shots in net for Old Orchard.

EL 3, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON – Emily Ranucci scored a goal and collected an assist as Edward Little glided past Lewiston (2-11) with a 3-0 win in a field hockey game.

Maddie Williamson scored on a Ranucci feed and was followed by Tori Couture, who scored unassisted.

The Red Eddies outshot the Blue Devils, 31-7, and EL’s Kayla Cummings made three saves.
