VASSALBORO – Eric Hall fired a 74 Tuesday to help Lewiston finish third in the KVAC qualifying match and earn a berth into the Class A golf team championships.

Hall finished in a two-way tie for third with his 74, trailing only Kyle Bonefant of Cony and Henry Fall of Mt. Ararat, who each shot a 72. Lewiston’s Scott Gagne (82) also earned a berth in the individual state final.

Only Cony (313) and Brunswick (324) finished ahead of Lewiston’s team score of 332. Other Class A teams qualifying for states were Messalonskee (334), Hampden (350) and Brewer (362). A total of 17 schools were vying for one of six spots.

Mt. Blue was 10th with 374, while Oxford Hills (388) was 11th and Edward Little (394) 12th.

In Class B, Leavitt earned a place in the state team finals by finishing third. The Hornets had score of 345, three shy of co-winners Waterville and Camden Hills.

Individual qualifiers in Class B included Kendall Boudreau (79) and Brandon Jacques (84) of Mountain Valley, Tyler Walton of Leavitt (82) and Oak Hill’s Nate Jillson, who had an 83.

Girls qualifiers included Karli Soracco (86) and Lauren Lord (107) of Leavitt and Alexis Priest of Oak Hill (87).
