Marchian C. Crane
1935 – 2009

LEWISTON — Marchian C. Crane died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born March 19, 1935. He married Joyce Reynolds in 1956. He was a member of the Masons and the Shrine and served on the Mechanic Falls town council and the school board for more than 30 years.

For several years, he was a member of the Mechanic Falls Police Department and also part of the Maine State Police Reserve. Most of his life he worked as a salesman.

In later years, he worked summers at the Poland Spring Golf Course as a ranger. Most recently, he worked full time at the Tripp Lake Girls Camp and also part-time at Androscoggin Head Start during the school year.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son, Marchian Jr. (Skip) (another son, Andrew, died in January of this year); three grandchildren, Marchian III, Ryan and Daniella; four brothers, Michael and wife, Rita, David and wife, Frances, and Jon and wife, Pauline; a sister, Joan and husband, Charles; many nieces and nephews; and other family too numerous to mention.

He was predeceased by his brother, Edmond (wife, Barbara) and sister, Judy.
