Virginia A. Pomerleau
1924 – 2009

FARMINGTON — Virginia A. Pomerleau, 85, a former resident of Jay, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Orchard Park Nursing Home, where she had resided since 2005.

She was born in Livermore Falls, Aug. 10, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Alma Pomerleau and was a graduate of Jay High School. She worked at the Bates Mill in Lewiston and Bath Iron Works in Bath, before moving to California, where she worked in electronics.

After her retirement, she moved back to Maine to take care of her mother. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She enjoyed genealogy and collecting coins.

She is survived by brothers, Eugene Pomerleau of Livermore Falls, Norman Pomerleau and his wife, Helen, of Jay and Tony Pomerleau of Jay; and sisters, Vivian Burhoe of Jay, Pauline Jepson and her husband, Harland, of Wilton and Geraldine Bibeau and her husband, Rene, of Jay.

She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Roland and Richard Pomerleau; and a sister, Jeannette Garrow.
