Education association

SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford County Education Association – Retired will
meet on Friday, Oct. 16, at the South Paris Congregational Church. The social
period will start at 10:30 a.m. with the business meeting at 11. Afternoon
program to be announced. The scholarship fundraiser will be an apple
pie sale. Newly retired teachers and support personnel are welcome. To
reserve a lunch, call 743-7677 by Tuesday, Oct. 13. 

Church service

PARIS — “Here There Be Dragons” will be the sermon topic on Sunday, Oct.
11, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris.
Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service. The music
will be under the direction of Forest Perkins and Renee Wales will lead
the Sunday School. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.
Child care is provided and all are welcome.  

Extension meeting

BRYANT POND — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension annual meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and
Learning Center. Registration will be at 5:45 p.m. The buffet dinner is
$7.50 and will be served at 6:15 p.m.

The speaker will be Ryder Scott, program director of University of
Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond. Ryder will present a broad based program on the importance of outdoor education
and physical activity for youth. The camp offers outdoor programs from sportsmanship to nature
studies to Junior Maine Guide programs.

Fall shoots

EAST OXFORD — Fall shoots at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game clubhouse
on Paine Road will take place from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. There will be a running deer shoot and trap shooting. For more

Board meeting

NORWAY — Community Concepts Inc. will hold its monthly board of directors
meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Norway Town Office
Complex. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call 739-6564.
