FRYEBURG — The Maine Beef Producers Association and the Fryeburg Fair will once again sponsor a club calf show and sale on Friday, Oct. 9, at the fair, following the market steer auction. It is an opportunity for breeders to showcase animals from their herd and allows interested 4-H youth to view show prospects for next year.

For breeders interested in participating in the event, bulls and steers must have been born after Jan. 1, 2009 while heifers have to have been born after Sept. 1, 2008. There is a $40 entry fee for consigners, who must also be association members. If not already a member, the $35 membership fee will be deducted from sale monies.

Consignments shall have been weaned prior to Sept. 1, vaccinated and dewormed. Animals will be weighed on Thursday evening, although animals may arrive earlier in the week if needed. For more information, contact sale Manager Ed Carter at [email protected] or 737-2872.
