Marchian C. Crane
1935 – 2009
LEWISTON — Marchian C. Crane died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born March 19, 1935. He married Joyce Reynolds in 1956. He was a member of the Masons and the Shrine and served on the Mechanic Falls town council and the school board for more than 30 years.
For several years, he was a member of the Mechanic Falls Police Department and also part of the Maine State Police Reserve. Most of his life he worked as a salesman.
In later years, he worked summers at the Poland Spring Golf Course as a ranger. Most recently, he worked full-time at the Tripp Lake Girls Camp and also part-time at Androscoggin Head Start during the school year.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce: a son, Marchian Jr. (Skip) of Gray; four brothers, Benjamin and wife, Jan, of Norway, Michael and wife, Rita, of Greenwood, David and wife, Frances, of Farmington and Jon and wife, Pauline, of North Carolina; one sister, Joan and husband, Charles, of Seabrook, N.H.; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Perreault) of Byfield, Mass.
He was predeceased by a sister, Judy Girard of Somerville, Mass.; and a brother, Edmund of Byfield, Mass.
