AUBURN — Police on both sides of the river are looking for an armed robber who walked into the Dunkin’ Donuts on Riverside Drive in New Auburn on Tuesday night and ran out with a small amount of cash.

According to Auburn police Sgt. Gary Boulet, the suspect entered the Dunkin’ Donuts shortly after 8 p.m. and went up to the counter and pulled a weapon — possibly a shotgun — from beneath a long, black leather coat. He demanded money from the two clerks working at the counter and then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man is described as a white male, late 20s to 40s, 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, slim build and facial hair. Witnesses said he was wearing baggy jeans, a white sweatshirt, a red pullover with a hood and a black leather jacket. He was also wearing a cap underneath his hood. He was described as being unsteady on his feet.

The Dunkin’ Donuts on Riverside Drive in Auburn was robbed late Tuesday evening by a man who apparently brandished a weapon before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
